WILL PRESIDENTIAL `N' FACTOR AFFECT ELECTION?

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Wireless Flash) -- If Dan Quayle ever wants to run for President again, he should first add an "N" to his last name. According to a political prediction system known as the "N- Factor," voters prefer presidential candidates whose last names end in the letter "N." So far, sixteen presidents have had names that end in "N" -- including Clinton, Reagan, Nixon, Truman, Lincoln and Washington. Rutgers University political science professor Ross Baker says the "N-Factor" is just one of many oddball theories that supposedly can predict the outcome of an election. If the "N-Factor" truly is a factor, then Al Gore, Elizabeth Dole and George W. Bush don't have a chance -- which means in 2001 it will be either President Pat Buchanan or President John McCain. Campaign officials for Buchanan and McCain refused to comment on how the "N-Factor" could affect their campaigns.
