REAL-LIFE `SPEED RACER' TO HIT THE ROAD

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Looks like Speed Racer's car is going on the road -- literally. A life-size version of the Mach 5 driven by Speed Racer in the late 1960s cartoon show will be making its debut in November at a automotive trade show in Las Vegas. The outrageous auto -- which cost $200,000 to assemble -- will feature blade cutters on the front of the car, a special hydraulics system that allows it to jump long distances and an interactive voice response module. After the Mach 5 makes its debut appearance, it will go on tour to promote the Child Safety Network, a child safety advocacy group.
