WORLD'S LARGEST HAIRBALL UNDER CONSTRUCTION

WORLD'S LARGEST HAIRBALL UNDER CONSTRUCTION

AUSTIN, Texas (Wireless Flash) -- They build everything bigger in Texas -- including hairballs. That's the goal of an Austin barber who is trying to construct the world's biggest hairball using leftover scraps of human hair. Barber Bill Black is inviting people from around the world to send him sweepings from barbershops and beauty parlors to add to his huge hairball which is currently the size of a pick-up truck bed. The 54-year-old barber says he's creating the massive mound of tresses to call attention to the many alternative uses of hair -- such as a fertilizer for soil. Black also claims hair can be used as a construction material, and he's even created "hair bricks" to demonstrate their strength. If you want to contribute to the world's largest hairball, you can send your hair trimmings to Sportsmen's Barber Shop, 3702 Jefferson St., Austin, TX 78731.
