AMERICANS NOT WORRIED ABOUT Y2K TRAVEL DISASTERS

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash) -- All the hype about potential Y2K- related travel disasters is going in one ear and out the other for most Americans. A new survey by the Travel Industry Association of America shows only 5 percent of Americans are worried the dreaded computer bug will cause airplanes to crash or delay flights during the New Year. 26 percent think nothing will happen to inconvenience travelers on December 31 while 39 percent think Y2K will cause "minor problems." The real culprit for travel hassles during the millennium change-over might just come from the sheer number of folks who'll be traveling during that time: around 37 million Americans, according to the Association's predictions.
