ACTIVIST GROUP GOING NUTS OVER ORGANIC SCHOOL LUNCHES

BERKELEY, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- A group of restaurant owners is going nuts over a decision in Berkeley, California, that requires school cafeterias to serve only organic food. School officials in the hippie-dippy city have approved a plan that prohibits foods that have been sprayed with pesticides, treated with additives or grown in synthetic fertilizer. The new law is leaving a bad taste in the mouths of the Guest Choice Network, a restaurant group that claims organic food is eight times more likely to contain bacteria like "e.coli" than food treated with pesticides. But a spokesperson for the organic school lunch program claims the dangers of pesticides to kids far outweigh the chances of getting sick from "e.coli." This week just happens to be National School Lunch Week.
