LAUNDRY DETERGENT ADDS SUNSCREEN TO CLOTHES

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- People aren't the only ones who need sunscreen -- clothes do too. That's the idea behind a new laundry additive called "Tinosorb" which reportedly coats your clothing with a sun-blocking agent. The sunscreen detergent increases the sun protection factor of your clothing each time you wash it, and maxes out at around 40 SPF. Although it sounds like a good idea, some suntan enthusiasts aren't jumping for joy. A spokesperson for the International Smart Tan Network says he doubts there's a need for the detergent because it's extremely difficult to get a sunburn while wearing clothing. The new additive will make its debut later today (Oct. 19) at a New York City laundromat called Laundry World.
