GLUTTONY IS GOOD

GLUTTONY IS GOOD

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Don't feel guilty if you pig out during the upcoming holidays, because gluttony is a good thing. That's according to food writer Nan Lyons, author of the upcoming book "Gluttony: More is More" (Red Rock Press). Lyons claims Americans would be happier and healthier if they overindulged more often, because -- in her words -- "...there's nothing bad about eating too many yams with marshmallow topping." She thinks the current diet philosophy of denial is actually causing folks to get fatter in America, because they feel so guilty about pigging out in public that they do it double time in private. Lyons says if you can set aside specific times to be gluttonous -- such as the holidays -- you'll be able to eat in moderation for the rest of the year.
