AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN'S BAND GAINING GROUPIES IN U.S.

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- An Australian children's group that's a combination of Barney and the Backstreet Boys is discovering they have a special appeal to single moms. The group -- called "The Wiggles" -- consist of four hunky guys and four Barney-like costumed characters that sing and dance in synchronized moves similar to the Backstreet Boys. Member Anthony Field -- who was recently voted "Bachelor of the Year" by an Australian women's magazine -- says he's met a few single moms who like the band almost as much as their kids. In fact, on a recent tour of Texas, one mother expressed her interest in Field by baking a cake especially for him. Another woman in Chicago made custom teddy bears for each of the members of The Wiggles. One woman has even started following The Wiggles from show- to-show -- and she doesn't even have kids.
