MASSAGE BEST TREATMENT FOR TOBACCO ADDICTION?

SULPHER, Oklahoma (Wireless Flash) -- If you're quitting smoking, this news will rub you the right way: a new study suggests a massage may be a better treatment for cigarette addiction than a nicotine patch. According to doctors at the Lifestyle Center of America, an anti-smoking clinic in Sulpher, Oklahoma, smokers are more likely to quit for good if they receive massages, steam baths and aromatherapy during the fretful first week. The study reveals that 68 percent of smokers getting regular rub-downs stayed tobacco-free for at least three months compared to only 34 percent of those who only used nicotine patches. Researcher Dr. Zeno Charles-Marcel theorizes that massages may help smokers withdraw from tobacco by relaxing the nervous system. The complete report will be released November 10 at the American Public Health Association's Annual Meeting in Chicago.
