FITNESS CLUB EXPECTS RECORD NUMBERS DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash) -- Just how fattening is the average Thanksgiving Day dinner? Try 2500 calories and 130 grams of fat. That's according to the Bally's Total Fitness workout club chain, which expects a record number of gym rats to show up on Friday to work off all the turkey and stuffing. A spokesperson says holiday pigouts cause gym populations to swell by approximately 10 percent the day after Thanksgiving. By the way, the average, 150-pound person will need to walk 12 hours, bike for 9 hours or do 4 hours of aerobics to work off all the calories consumed in the typical Thanksgiving meal. As an incentive to get the lard out, the exercise chain is offering free entry this Friday (Nov. 26) to anyone who brings a Thanksgiving day leftover such as an empty pumpkin pie tin or box of stuffing.
