007 FILM NOT STIRRING INTEREST IN MARTINIS

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash) -- The new James Bond flick may be packing movie theaters, but it's not doing much for the sale of martinis, 007's favorite drink. That's according to bartender and martini expert Edwin Decker, who says the latest Bond movie is having no effect whatsoever on the sales of martinis that are "shaken, not stirred." Decker says that may be because real martini drinkers know an authentic martini is always stirred because shaking "bruises" the gin and affects the taste. Either way he blames 007 for incorrectly educating an entire generation of trendoids into assuming good martinis are shaken, not stirred. For the record, the classic martini has only three ingredients: gin, vermouth and an olive. The only other acceptable variations are a dirty martini, which has a little extra olive juice, or a vodka martini.
