STAR OF BETHLEHEM REALLY JUPITER?

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Wireless Flash) -- Talk about being star- crossed: An astronomer claims the Star of Bethlehem was really the planet Jupiter. Dr. Michael Molnar says the proof may lie in an ancient Roman coin which was minted 19 years after Jesus' birth. The coin depicts Aries the Ram looking back at a bright object shining in the eastern sky. After some research, Molnar discovered the coin represents a major astrological event near the time of Christ's birth -- specifically, an event on April 17 in 6 B.C. when Jupiter rose from the East and was conjunct with the moon and Saturn. It was this spectacular celestial sight that ancient astrologers believed heralded the birth of a "super King." Dr. Molnar is the author of the new book "The Star Of Bethlehem: The Legacy Of The Magi" (Rutgers University Press).
