TOWN USING FAKE PATROL CARS TO CURB CRIME

WROTHAM, Kent, England (Wireless Flash) -- Cops in England have found a way to cut costs and crime by using plastic reproductions of police patrol cars. From a distance, the plastic cut-outs resemble the back of a Volvo police cruiser -- but on close examination, you can tell it's just a flat piece of plastic lamination. Bobbies in the town of Wrotham have set up the phony patrol cars at a local hotel to give guests a greater sense of security. A police spokesman says cops aren't worried thieves will discover the "cars" are fakes because most thugs avoid a patrol at any distance.
