WHAT A GAS! GAS MASK SALES SOARING

DEXTER, Maine (Wireless Flash) -- The world is going gaga over gas masks -- and it's turning out to be a real gas for a gas mask manufacturer in Maine. A company called GasMasks.com claims sales have soared by 400 percent since September, and it expects to sell more than 300,000 gas masks this month alone. The company figures it's due to increasing fears about terrorist attacks and chemical spills spurred by the Y2K computer glitch. The gas masks come in sizes to fit adults, children, infants -- and, get this -- pets. However, the price for breathing easy could choke your bank account: An average gas mask costs around $100, but a top-of-the- line military model -- complete with drinking straw -- will set you back $300.
