NEW YEAR'S DAY TO BECOME AUGUST 6?

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) -- This may put a crimp into your New Year's Eve plans, but a group of extraterrestrials want Earthlings to celebrate New Year's Day on August 6 not January 1. That's according to "Rael," the leader of an unusual cult that claims E.T.s known as the "Elohim" are lobbying the United Nations to change the date of New Year's Day to August 6. Why? Well, Rael claims the aliens want us to celebrate the anniversary of the day the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Apparently, the aliens believe the bomb ushered in a "golden age" where science rules over superstition. The E.T.-inspired calendar also starts in the year 1945, with succeeding years described as "A.H." (after Hiroshima) -- which means it's currently 54 A.H. Rael predicts the date change will happen sometime before the Elohim arrive on Earth between 2030 and 2035.
