ROMANCE NOVELS CROSS OVER INTO CROSS DRESSING

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Danielle Steel is getting competition from a California cross dresser who specializes in romance novels written for transvestites. Novelist Sandy Thomas has written and published more than 200 transgendered titles including "Born to be a Bride, Born to be a Daughter;" "Like Mother, Like Son" and "Always a Bridesmaid." The plots follow a formula where a guy is forced to dress up as a girl and he learns to like it. In one novel, "Passport To Femininity," the main character wears a wig and a dress because his passport accidently lists him as a woman. Thomas says the cross-dressing romance novels always include happy endings where the lead character discovers the object of his desires enjoys seeing him wearing womens' clothes. Although cross dressing romance novels may sound kinky, Thomas -- a happily married father -- says there are no dirty words or explicit sex scenes because he believes "romance is between the ears, not the legs."
