RECORD-SETTING MARATHONER TO HANG UP HIS SNEAKERS

KINGWOOD, Texas (Wireless Flash) -- A Texas marathon runner is about to hang up his sneakers after setting a world record of 200 consecutive marathons. 53-year-old oil executive Rick Worley has ran at least one marathon a week for the past three years, and, if his feet don't fail him now, he'll run his final marathon this weekend (Jan. 16) in Houston. He started his record-breaking feat in 1997 to celebrate his 50th birthday by running 50 marathons. Since then he's logged more than 5400 miles by foot and has traveled across America, Canada, Mexico and Japan. Worley admits there have been drawbacks to his marathon running: namely no time to dust or do chores at his house. As a result, he confesses his home should be declared a "national disaster area."
