BIZARRE ROCK `N' ROLLER REQUESTS

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) -- Never underestimate the lengths folks will go to please a celebrity. Just ask Monika Bernstein, who manages The Phoenix, a San Francisco hotel that caters to traveling rock musicians. Bernstein says her staff has done requested to do everything from spike the hair of a punk band in the hotel lobby to washing the tour bus. One male clerk actually drove the members of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy to a restaurant in his SUV after the band couldn't find a cab. Then there's the time Cake lead singer John McCrea asked Bernstein to pick up some cayenne pepper at an organic health food store to help treat his sore vocal chords. But the kookiest request came from members of The Cult, who requested special coloring books.
