RETIRED GROCER CROWNED MATZO BALL EATING CHAMP

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- A retired grocer in Long Island has just won the title of "Matzo Ball Eating Champion of the World." 50-year-old Donald Lerman nabbed the honor for gobbling up 12 of the baseball-sized dumplings in just over five minutes at a contest sponsored by Ben's Kosher Delicatessen in New York City. Lerman wins $2500 for his stomach-stretching feat along with a gold-plated loving cup filled with matzo balls. However, the 146-pound champ admits he probably won't touch another matzo ball for years.
