`HURRICANE' FILM A FRAUD?

PATERSON, N.J. (Wireless Flash) -- A New Jersey man claims the hit movie, "The Hurricane," isn't telling the whole truth about boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. James DeSimone, the son of the key detective who investigated Carter's case, claims the movie's depiction of the boxer as an innocent victim is totally false. Although the movie implies "Hurricane" Carter was innocent, DeSimone says the boxer was actually freed on a technicality. He's now considering suing for slander because he believes the film's producers modeled the racist, corrupt detective character after his father who he claims was neither. Although there's already a storm of controversy regarding the historical accuracy of the movie, DeSimone hopes to tell his side of the story at a press conference that will be held this afternoon in New Jersey.
