`SOPRANOS'-INFLUENCED ROCK BAND HOPES TO MAKE A BIG `HIT'

ALTOONA, Pa. (Wireless Flash) -- There's a rock band in Altoona, Pennsylvania, that's modeled itself after the wiseguys in the hit TV series "The Sopranos." The new band is called Fat Vinny and the Wiseguys and founder Eric "Fat Vinny" Kelly admits the group's look is based on the characters in the popular HBO mafia drama. The Wiseguys all dress in slick, gangster-style suits and fedoras while performing covers of "Sopranos-"style music. The four-piece band even has an "associate" named "Paulie Walnuts" who provides muscle during gigs to keep the fans in line. The band is currently playing gigs around Altoona, but Fat Vinny says the band's dream gig would be to play at Bada Bing!, the fictional strip bar in "The Sopranos."
