PUNK BAND WRITES CAMPAIGN SONG FOR BUSH

PUNK BAND WRITES CAMPAIGN SONG FOR BUSH

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) -- Could a punk rock group swing the election for George W. Bush? That's what a San Francisco punk band hopes will happen. They're called The Dwarves, and the seven musicians think enlisting the support of "gutter rat punk kids" can help put Bush in the White House just as "soccer moms" helped Clinton in 1996. The band has even written a punk ditty titled "River City Rapist" which they hope will become Bush's official campaign song. Dwarves lead singer Blag Dahlia says he doesn't think the song and its gruesome lyrics will hurt Bush because "no one listens to lyrics anyway." Bush's campaign officials reportedly have heard "River City Rapist," but a spokesman says Governor Bush has no official campaign song.
