THE FIELD GUIDE TO WHITE FOLKS

THE FIELD GUIDE TO WHITE FOLKS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Those Audubon wildlife field guides are getting some competition from a new book called "The Field Guide To White People" (Three Rivers). Self-proclaimed "amateur anthropologists" Stephan Dweck and Monteria Ivey outline the 18 most common North American breeds of white people including... -- The Southern Hick Farmer, whose unique traits include yellow teeth, an eighth grade education and bad hair. -- Golden Age Gamblers: White senior citizen slot machine junkies who travel from casino to casino in large tour buses carrying cases of Polident and adult diapers. -- The Valley Girl Groupie: Ditzy San Fernando Valley women who'll have sex with any celebrity they can find. Although the guide is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, there's a serious side. Co-author Ivey hopes it will show folks just how ridiculous racial stereotypes are, which is why the African- American duo is planning to publish a "Field Guide to Black People."
