MISS MANNERS OF MATERNITY: `PREGNANT WOMEN CAN WEAR BIKINIS'

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash) -- Pregnant women now have their own guide to etiquette in the form of a Tennessee woman who's known as the "Miss Manners of Maternity." Miss Manners -- who is really mother of four Paula Spencer -- says it's perfectly acceptable for pregnant women to cut to the front of the ladies' room line or to ask a stranger to give up his or her seat on the bus. Other "pregnancy privileges" she claims are perfectly in an expectant mother's right include ducking out of boring conversations by saying "I'm sorry, I have to go to the bathroom" and wearing a bikini without getting criticized. Spencer is the author of "Everything Else You Need to Know When You're Expecting: The New Etiquette For the New Mom" (St. Martin's).
