COPS TO USE FINGERNAIL NOISES TO STOP CRIMINALS?

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- The irritating sound of fingernails scratching a chalkboard may become the latest tool in fighting crime. Law enforcement experts are researching the possibility of creating a machine that would bombard criminals with irritating noises to distract them from their dirty deeds. According to Lieutenant Mike Grossman of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, other proposed crime-busting technologies include a laser weapon that stuns crooks by shining a bright light in their eyes and tiny suction-cup TV cameras which can be used to spy inside a house during a police stand-off.
