COULD CUSTARD PREVENT SATELLITE CLUTTER?

LONDON (Wireless Flash) -- Could a custard-like substance clean up the growing problem of space debris? That's what an amateur astronomer in London thinks. Computer systems consultant John Youles thinks a custard-like substance sent into space might minimize "cosmic clutter." The 52-year-old Youles came up with his idea after he tossed a piece of silverware into the air and "...it got stuck in some cheap polystyrene tiles." He figures a compound could be molded into giant sticky balls soft enough to absorb space debris. Once the cosmic custard balls have sponged up all the gunk, they would be nudged into Earth's atmosphere where they would burn up.
