`CLEAN COMEDIANS' PUT KIBOSH ON CURSING COMICS

LA MIRADA, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- A group of not-so-naughty comedians is crusading for an end to the use of foul language in comedy clubs. The 40 or so stand-up comics in the Clean Comedians entertainment bureau all perform comedy acts that are supposedly clean enough for your grandma's ears. Spokeswoman Barbara Hillaker says comedians who join the bureau must sign a contract which prohibits the use of sexual innuendos, racist comments or curse words on stage. Although the Clean Comedians motto is "It Doesn't Have To Be Filthy To Be Funny," you decide. Here's one joke from the group's roster of squeaky clean zingers: "We just had a surprise party for my mother's 65th birthday. She was completely surprised because she's 50." Drum roll, please.
