TV VIEWERS TO SEE DOUBLE ON APRIL 1

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- TV watchers will be seeing a technological first on April Fools Day -- and that's no joke. At 2 a.m. Eastern time on April 1, the TV Land cable network will simultaneously air two different episodes of a TV show at the same time using split screen technology. Split screen isn't new, but this is the first time two TV episodes have aired at the same time to compensate for Daylight Saving Time. Folks who tune into the special broadcast of the 1970s series "Emergency" will only hear the audio track from one of the shows. The other show will be muted while dialogue flashes across the screen via closed captioning.
