BAY CITY ROLLERS: TODAY'S FASHION ROLE MODELS?

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Everything old IS new again -- at least when it comes to men's fashion. Case in point: the National Men's Association of Sportswear Buyers is predicting one of the hottest trends for next Fall will be head-to- toe woolen plaid clothes "a la" the 1970s teenybopper group The Bay City Rollers. Chi-chi designers like Tommy Hilfiger are already showing plaid pants and shirts in their collections, and the Association claims plaid will become "the most important pattern family of the season." Other trends for men include Prince Valiant-style capes, rainproof ponchos like those worn by school crossing guards and turtleneck sweaters pulled over the back of the head just like Kenny in "South Park."
