MARIJUANA GROUP TO HAND OUT `POT SCHOLARSHIP'

RAPID CITY, S.D. (Wireless Flash) -- Scholarships are going to pot courtesy of a pro-marijuana group which is offering $1000 in scholarship money to college students. The South Dakota affiliate of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) will hand out scholarships to two students who write the best essays outlining a "sensible" national drug policy. South Dakota NORML spokesman Bob Newland says he hopes the contest will encourage folks to find alternatives to current U.S. drug laws. A panel of judges will award $650 for the best essay and $350 to the runner up.
