WILD BIKINIS CAN WREAK HAVOC WITH HEALTH

TUCSON, Ariz. (Wireless Flash) -- Talk about getting into a bind: those tight bathing suits many women are wearing during Spring Break could be wreaking havoc with their health. It seems itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny bikinis can ride up the crotch and spread harmful "E. coli" bacteria into a woman's urinary tract, causing infections. According to urologist Dr. Susan Kalota, tight jeans may also put women at risk for so-called "Urinary Tract Infections," or UTIs. But there's more bad news for college coeds: Sex is another Spring Break staple that may cause a UTI, because the physical action of intercourse can introduce bacteria to the urinary tract. Kalota says spring breakers who want to avoid a UTI should drink plenty of liquids -- but avoid alcohol, which can irritate the bladder.
