RESEARCHERS: RUBBING HANDS REDUCES FLATULENCE

OFTERSCHWANG, Germany (Wireless Flash) -- Are friends and family raising a stink about your flatulence? Just rub your hands and watch the gas go away. Three German researchers claim rubbing certain areas of your hands can actually reduce the amount of gas you emit. Drs. Jurgen Kaiser, Alexander Scharmann and Beate Poyck-Scharmann claim flatulence is partially caused by energy blockages in the body. However, rubbing the fleshy part of your palms clockwise and the back of your hands counterclockwise supposedly reduces gas. The doctors also claim rubbing the spot where your thumb connects to your hand reduces heartburn, and rubbing your wrist can relieve hemorrhoids. The German researchers are the authors of the new book "Hand Reflexology" (Sterling).
