NOVELIST HAS NOVEL APPROACHES TO RESEARCH

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- A science thriller writer has a novel method of gathering research: He personally practices each chase scene before he writes it. Holden Scott -- author of the new book "The Carrier" (St. Martin's Press) -- admits that researching his medical thrillers sometimes requires him to break into ambulances and emergency rooms to see how doctors really work. Once, while getting ready to write a chase scene that takes at the Smithsonian Institute, Scott had his brother chase him around the building until security guards finally kicked them out. He also admits he sometimes practices love scenes on his girlfriend -- but he doesn't dare tell her.
