ROCK BAND ASKS FANS, `ARE OUR LYRICS TOO VILE?'

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- A Los Angeles rock group that was dumped by its label is now asking fans to vote on the raunchiness of its lyrics. The band, called The Crosswalk, was recently dumped by Disney-owned Hollywood Records, but wasn't given a reason why. Lead singer Cody Chesnutt thinks the band was canned because of its lyrics -- including one song about gang rape from a guy's point-of-view. He's now asking music fans to listen to the band's tunes at its website -- thecrosswalk.com -- and decide on their own whether the lyrics are vile. Chesnutt promises that if the public decides his songs stink, they will never be released in the U.S. A Hollywood Records spokesperson wouldn't comment as to why the band was bumped off the roster, but she insists the lyrics weren't the reason.
