LOUD CLOTHING TURNS KIDS INTO INSECT MAGNETS

HOUSTON (Wireless Flash) -- Here's another reason to keep your kids from wearing tacky Hawaiian shirts this summer: they could turn your children into insect magnets. According to pediatrician Dr. Milton Nirkin of Texas Children's Hospital, kids who wear brightly colored print clothing in the summertime are at a higher risk of being eaten alive by mosquitos, fleas and other pests. It seems biting bugs just love bright colors and will gravitate toward anyone wearing loud hues. Nirkin's suggestion for parents who want to protect their kids? Dress your tots in dark clothes and cover them from head to toe. They may look like escapees from a Marilyn Manson concert, but the bugs will sure pay less attention to them.
