ANCIENT VIDEO GAME TOURNEY STARTS TOMORROW

WEIRS BEACH, N.H. (Wireless Flash) -- Old video games like "Pac- Man" and "Donkey Kong" are getting a rebirth. Starting tomorrow, nearly 200 lovers of vintage video games will participate in an international video and pinball tournament in Weirs Beach, New Hampshire. The competition is dedicated solely to video games from the late '70s and '80s including "Qix, Missile Command" and "Frogger," as well as pinball games like "Harlem Globetrotters, Foto-Finish" and "Tropic Isle." Many old-time champs will attempt to break their old records, including Billy Mitchell, who holds the world's records for "Pac-Man" and "Donkey Kong." Tournament organizer Walter Day says many of the classic games are now available on PlayStation and some kids actually prefer the ancient games because they require more strategy and skill.
