SINGING SKIN DOCTOR USES HUMOR TO WARN ABOUT SUN

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- Life's a beach for a New York- based dermatologist who spends his weekends by the sea "beaching" about the dangers of skin cancer. During the week, Dr. Ted Daly is a pediatric dermatologist at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. But on weekend, Daly turns into "Dr. Melanoma," a character dressed in hospital whites who hands out sunscreen to New York beachgoers while discussing the dangers of melanoma. He also sings "dermatological ditties" such as "Leprosy," which is sung to the tune of "Yesterday" and features lines like: "Leprosy, I'm not half the man I used to be/ My leg and arms are falling off of me/ Woe is me/ I have Leprosy." Daly hopes to record his skin-oriented songs one day, but if he doesn't get a record contract, he says it's no skin off his nose.
