WIFE OF `WILDFIRE' WRITER HELPING NEW MEXICO FIRE VICTIMS

TAOS, N.M. (Wireless Flash) -- The wife of the man who recorded the 1975 hit, "Wildfire," is doing something for victims of the recent New Mexico fires. Mary Murphey -- whose hubby, Michael Martin Murphey, wrote and recorded "Wildfire" -- is organizing a country swing dance marathon to raise money for New Mexico's fire victims. Murphey hopes to raise at least $50,000 by getting country swing dancers from around the world to dance for nine hours straight. In exchange for dancing, participants will receive food, free foot massages and cold wash cloths. Murphey is still working out the details but, if all goes well, her dance marathon will take place August 14 in Taos, New Mexico.
