STUDY: THIN AIN'T IN WITH REGULAR FOLKS

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Wireless Flash) -- Beauty magazines may be filled to the brim with wafer-thin models -- but that doesn't hold much weight with the average American. In fact, a new study from the University of Florida finds most Americans prefer folks with a little meat on their bones. Participants were shown line drawings of people ranging from super-thin to grossly overweight and asked which body type was most desirable. The majority picked drawings of people with a nice amount of flab on their bods who resembled models in plus-size catalogs. Participants rated the ultra-thin supermodel-style body type as the least attractive.
