STUTTERERS P-P-P-PRAISE PORKY PIG

ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Don't have a cow but cartoon character Porky Pig will turn 65 on Saturday (July 1). On July 1, 1935, the stuttering porker made his debut in the cartoon short, "I Haven't Got A Hat," which started a career that hasn't stuttered since. Even the National Stuttering Association thinks Porky is a positive role model because he always finds a way to express himself and doesn't let his speech impediment control his life. Spokesman Joel Thinnes says most stutterers have a sense of humor regarding Porky's stuttering, but the group does have a bone to pick with Porky's trademark phrase, "Th-th-th-that's all folks." He says since Porky really is trying to say "Goodbye," he wishes the pig would stick to his guns instead of "compromising communication for fluency."
