OO-LA-LA: FRENCH FOLKS TO CELEBRATE FOURTH OF JULY

PARIS (Wireless Flash) -- America's Independence Day is taking a trip across the pond to France. Today and tomorrow, several Parisian bars and restaurants will be holding Fourth of July festivities, including menus featuring colonial-era American dishes. Some of the grub will include dishes like West Indies Pepper Pot Soup, Turkey Pot Pie, Dandelion Salad and an ancient vinegar-champagne beverage called "Champagne Shrub." The 18th century recipes are being concocted by the head chef of City Tavern, the Philadelphia restaurant that was the site of the very first Fourth of July celebration.
