COURT REPORTERS TO HAVE OWN VERSION OF OLYMPICS

McLOUTH, Kan. (Wireless Flash) -- America's top court reporters will be feeling the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat this Thursday (Jul. 20). That's when the National Court Reporters Association will hold its annual Speed Contest and nearly 30 court reporters will be battling to become America's fastest court reporter. Contestants must transcribe long speeches and take dictation from two folks talking at once and the winner must type at least 280 words a minute with 99 percent accuracy. Although court reporting won't rival baseball in popularity anytime soon, a contest spokeswoman admits the top reporters do attract groupies -- mostly other court reporters.
