NEW TREND: PAYING DOLLARS FOR DESIGNER MARBLES

TRUMBULL, Conn. (Wireless Flash) -- Talk about losing your marbles: Some collectors are spending as much as $10,000 on a single marble. That's according to Stanley Block of the Marble Collectors Society of America, who says antique glass marbles made in Germany prior to World War I can sell for more than $10,000. He says the hottest new trend rolling around in the marble world these days is handmade marbles specially crafted by artisans which sell for between $5 and $500. Although Block admits most collectors don't play marbles with the designer models, he says the game of marbles is making a comeback.
