MAN HOPES TO CLONE JESUS USING ANCIENT ARTIFACTS

BERKELEY, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- A clone of Jesus Christ could be returning to Earth on Christmas Day 2001, if a man in Berkeley, California, has his way. 40-year-old Kristan Lawson is the brains behind something called "The Second Coming Project," an organization that plans to clone Christ by April of next year. Lawson hopes to find cells of Christ's DNA in ancient relics and then inject them into an unfertilized human egg. The egg will then be placed in the womb of a yet-to-be- selected virgin willing to carry the clone for 9 months. Although Lawson says the custody of the modern-day Baby Jesus will probably go to the mother, he's more than willing to be the "godfather."
