VIDEO GAME VOCALIZERS TO SING IN KARAOKE CONTEST

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) -- Playing video games is one thing but what about imitating them? Believe it or not, the world's first "Video Game Karaoke Contest" will take place Saturday (Jul. 29) in Las Vegas, as part of something called the "2000 Classic Gaming Expo." Contestants will imitate video game noises such as the "doodily doo" noise when "Donkey Kong" drops to his death or the sound of whistling bombs as heard in "Astro Smash." The video game vocalizers will have their noises judged by the original programmers who created the sound effects. Besides putting themselves at risk of a scratchy throat, the winning video game imitator will win a computer game autographed by the programmers.
