JAZZ CAR TO DRIVE MUSIC FANS `AUTO CONTROL'

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash) -- This should drive music fans "auto control": A car that also doubles as a jazz instrument. Oldsmobile has just built the "Jazz Obsessed Aurora," an automobile enhanced with 35 touch-sensitive sound panels that duplicate various jazz instruments and sounds. You beep the car horn for a trumpet squeal, click the turn signals for conga drums and press the gas pedal to hear vibraphones. When the car door is opened, you hear applause. The Jazz Obsessed Aurora might be music to your ears, but don't expect to drive it home. Only one musical car exists and it's not street legal. The car will star in a nationwide tour which starts Friday (Aug. 4) with Al Jarreau, Roberta Flack and David Sanborn.
