FESS PARKER TURNS 75 (AUG. 16)

LOS OLIVOS, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- You might want dig your old coonskin cap out of the closet because "Davy Crockett" actor Fess Parker turns 75 today. Although Parker became famous playing both Crockett and "Daniel Boone" on TV, he's now the owner of the Fess Parker Winery and Vineyard in Los Olivos, California, where his son is the winemaker. Parker says he enjoyed his 22 years as an actor but admits the movie industry is difficult for someone who likes being his own boss. He also admits that playing American legends like Crockett and Boone inspired him to be a role model to kids, but 'fesses up that he can't decide which character would be better in a bar fight. In his words, "Just blindfold me and I'll pick one." Parker will spend his 75th sailing on the Pacific Ocean.
