DELINQUENTS WANTED DOWN UNDER

SYDNEY, Australia (Wireless Flash) -- "Survivor" is just a game in America but it may provide a solution to delinquency in Australia. A Sydney-based social science expert will attempt to rehabilitate 50 juvenile delinquents by making them spend 10 weeks in the Australian Outback. James Salerno wants to see how the kids can handle electing their own government, digging their own toilets and cooking over open fires. It may sound like slave labor but a spokeswoman insists the duties are simply opportunities for the juveniles to grow emotionally. Salerno claims he recognized the need for the program after he saw the human tragedy of the Vietnam war and predicts it has the potential to solve the world's problems.
