PET ROCK GETS NEW AGE COUSIN

NEWPORT, R.I. (Wireless Flash) -- The Pet Rock is getting a New Age cousin thanks to a stone harvester in Rhode Island. Rock hound Steven James is selling what he calls "spiritually charged" ocean stones that can be used to conjure up a stone spirit named "Mana." James collects the rocks from ancient Native American worship sites along the New England coastline and says they derive their power from the lapping action of the waves. The magic stones supposedly soothe stress when placed in a circle around the body or when heated up and applied to the skin. Folks who've used the stones claim they also relieve stress and help them reach meditative states.
