FACE-LIFTS CAN CAUSE BALDNESS

FACE-LIFTS CAN CAUSE BALDNESS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Here's the ugly truth about facelifts: they can cause you to lose your hair. That's according to New York-based hair transplantation expert Dr. Marc Avram, who estimates 10 percent of his clients have lost hair after having a facelift. The bald spots usually appear around the temples and are caused by the skin being pulled back too tightly during surgery. Avram also says brow lifts can cause a receding hairline which looks similar to male pattern baldness. He says the problem can easily be solved by transplanting hair follicles from the back of the head to the bald spots. Avram will discuss hair transplantation this Saturday at the New York Hair Symposium.
